The Department conducts numerous collaborative research investigations that focus on specific topics of concern. By fostering interdisciplinary research, we are able to provide timely responses to emerging needs in public health. These topics also offer opportunities for students to conduct research in particular areas of interest. In addition to long-standing collaborations with our colleagues at the Medical University of Vienna and AKH Wien, we maintain an international collaboration with Harvard Medical School and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. An active research group at Harvard, led by Professor Eva Schernhammer, focuses on Circadian Epidemiology. Other research opportunities include the use of Austrian health statistics, and a wide range of existing international cohort studies.
